First Choice Homes Oldham is a "not for profit" housing association, managing approximately 12,000 homes in Oldham; any surplus money that they make is reinvested into their homes and neighbourhoods. As part of their commitment to ensuring all our customers receive the highest possible quality of service, FCHO recently upgraded the district heating scheme in around 2,000 of its properties. 

Retrofitting of 'smart' heat meters to the district heating network has helped FCHO's residents to better understand their energy use. Gaining 'ownership' of their energy consumption has had a positive impact on their residents' bills. 

9 out of 10 residents pay less now than they did on the old standing charge method. 

Welcoming the upgrade, FCHO resident Mr Jagger said:

"All I have to do is use the simple control board. It's a fantastic improvement on the old fixed charge system."
